Special Frame with mixed media

Comme promis dans mon article précédent sur la peinture de la sirène, voila une petite expérimentation que j'ai faite sur le cadre de cette sirène.
J'aime comme d'habitude tester des choses, un peu différentes de mes habitudes, et utiliser des produits que sont normalement réservés à d'autres applications.

Aujourd'hui... mixed media ! je vais peindre le cadre en utilisant
- Pebeo vitrail ink (alkyl based)
- Pebeo fantasy prism.
- résine de glacage

As promised in my previous article about the siren face painting... here is a little experiment that I have done to create a special frame for this siren.

I always like testing things, a bit outside our regular painting, and using products that are normally used for other stuff.

Today then... mixed media ! I will paint the frame using
- Pebeo vitrail ink (alkyl based)
- Pebeo fantasy prism paint.
- resin for glazing (not the one for inclusion/pouring)

Le premier produit est utilisé pour teinter ma résine lors de coulage pour des socles ou dioramas. mais j'ai découvert le second produit dans un magasin d'art.. scrapbooking, bijoux .. sont quelques application de cette peinture Prisme.

The first one I used it to tint my resin for pourring water in base/diorama. but I discover the second one in art store.. scrapbooking, jewelry... are some of the use of this Prism paint

 ETAPE UNE : STEP one : frenzy !!

Pas complétement du n'importe quoi !! car j'ai fait attention a couler de l'encre bleue sur le haut et le bas, de l'encre émeraude cote à cote, et j'ai aspergé de prisme vert et violet ici ou la.
Alors j'ai pris le cadre, et je l'ai bougé, tourné incliné... pour faire circuler le liquide. La peinture PRISME a tendance a s'effacer sous l'encre.. MAIS quand après que l'encre a circulé sur la PRISME, et que l'on inverse l'orientation, quand l'encre repart dans l'autre sens, la PRISME re-apparait à nouveau !! en créant des formes magnifiques.

Not total mess ! as I mixed ink deep blue on the top and bottom, emerald ink just side by side, and splash my PRISM paint, green and purple here and there
Then I take the frame, and move it, turn it, in order to create a circulation of liquid. The PRISM paint has the tendency to be covered quickly under the inks when you apply a movement... BUT, when you invert the movement, the ink goes back and Prism paint appears again... !! with beautiful shapes !!

Faites vos essais, expérimentez !! il y a des tonnes  de façons de faire avec ces produits. Normalement sans mélanger avec de l'encre, la PRISME forme des structures en nid d'abeilles.. très sympa aussi, car cela donne un aspect presque organique.. ici je ne voulais pas cet effet mais je l'essayerai sur d'autres projets

Do you own test, experiment !! there is tons of ways to work with those paints... Normally without mixing them with ink to create this wavy pattern... they create an Honeycomb structure... very interresting also as it could be kind of organic.. here I did not want to use them for this property but I will try for another project.

Je laisse le tout poser pour stabiliser le mouvement, et si nécessaire je rajoute un peu de PRISME ou d'encre, pour obtenir ce que je veux.
Certains pourraient dire que l'on ne contrôle rien.. mais en fait pas totalement... la manière dont on place les produits au début, la façon dont on incline le cadre va changer le résultat, donc vous avez quand même un contrôle sur tout ca.
Après avoir enlever le scotch de protection sur les cotés, j'ai coulé de la résine de glaçage pour protéger l'aspect.

I let all sitting a bit, to stabilize the mouvement, and then if needed, bring back a bit more PRISM or ink.. to obtain what I wanted.
One could say it's totally random... but in fact not totally.. the way you place the initial drops, the products you use and the way you move the frame will change the result, and you still have a grip on it.
After removing the masking tape on the edge... I pour glazing resin to protect this aspect..

Ici une vidéo de la sirène sur le cadre, car la PRISME change selon la lumière, et il est difficile de s'en apercevoir en photo.

Here is a video with the Siren now on it, as the PRISM paint changes with light, and difficult to render it with picture.
